Kellan Lutz 2 Do His Own Stunts

Posted in Eclipse with tags , on October 17, 2009 by chasingcullens has a short, but sweet, interview with Eclipse vampire Kellan Lutz (aka Emmett Cullen) on working out and doing stunts. And how he isn’t all “muscles” he is actually quite intelligent –

In order to get into fighting shape for the combat-heavy Eclipse, the third film in the series, Lutz spent much of the summer getting his body into full beat-down mode. The aspiring action hero even tussled with the movie’s producers over performing his own stunts. “I want to be the guy who actually gets shot and gets his leg broken but keeps on fighting,” Lutz insists. “I want that to be my face on the screen.”

But lest audiences think Lutz is all brawn and no brains, they should know that he reads his beloved Kindle between takes. They should also know he gave up a scholarship in chemical engineering to pursue a lucrative modeling career—only to give up his modeling career to pursue an even more lucrative film career. If it gets more lucrative, watch out: Lutz compiles potential inventions in a notebook and cautions, madscientist-style, “If I had millions of dollars I could do something with chemical compounds, some really intense stuff.”

Hot and Smart? *melts*

What if Twilight’s made in the 80s?

Posted in twilight with tags , , , , , , on August 30, 2009 by chasingcullens

Sure, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart may fit the characters of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan like a glove, but what if Stephenie Meyer’s vamp classic was written during the high-flying, colorful 1980s? Who would glitter in the sun during the era of John Hughes and the Brat Pack?

Well, that’s what we wondered too, which is why we’re happy to present “Twilight:” 80’s Edition! We’ve broken out the Adobe Photoshop and decided to cast our favorite “Twilight” characters if the film was made over twenty years ago. Instead of RPattz and KStew, fans could’ve easily been cheering on the romance of RPhoenix and ASheedy. Click here or on the photo below to browse our re-imagined photo gallery, and read on below for our new cast of characters.

River Phoenix as Edward Cullen: Before Zac Efron, the Jonas Brothers and…yes, Robert Pattinson…there was River Phoenix. The 80s heartthrob starred in such classic films as “Explorers” and “Stand By Me” before getting nominated for an Oscar at age 18 for his role in “Running On Empty.” His promising career was cut short in 1993 when the star was tragically found dead of a drug overdose in Los Angeles. During his heyday, however, he brought just the right amount of brooding sexiness that could fuel the role of Edward Cullen. (Who could share the screen as his Bella? Find out after the jump!)

Ally Sheedy as Bella Swan: Best known as the quiet, quirky member of the Breakfast Club, Ally Sheedy not only shares the acting chops of Kristen Stewart, but is also a dead ringer for the girl that would eventually bring Bella to life.

Johnny Depp as Jacob Black: Yes ladies, before he became the hot Johnny Depp of the 1990s and 2000s, he was the hot Johnny Depp of the 1980s. The star of such fare as “Edward Scissorhands” and seminal TV classic “21 Jump Street,” Depp brings the sexy protectiveness that a role like Jacob needs. And he even had long hair back then!

Who did we cast as Rosalie, Emmett, Jasper and Alice? Click here to browse our “Twilight:” 80s Edition image gallery and find out!!

Fashion Fix: Emmett Cullen

Posted in New Moon, Random with tags , on June 25, 2009 by chasingcullens

blog_00800_fashion_fix_of_the_week_emmetts_waistcoat_look_from_the_twilight_saga_new_moonWith Ashley Greene (aka Alice Cullen) recently letting slip that more time and money is being spent on the costumes to The Twilight Saga: New Moon, excitement as to what these will be is reaching fever pitch. The teaser trailer for the hugely anticipated sequel to last winter’s blockbuster, Twilight gave us a iddy biddy look at these new styles and one we’re already loving is that of hunky man mountain, Emmett Cullen (Kellan Lutz) at Bella’s (Kristen Stewart) birthday party. So much so that we’re naming it this week’s fashion fix.

Emmett scrubs up well for the formal occasion, ditching the controversial sporty style that became his signature look in Twilight. This smart and sophisticated ensemble comes in muted tones of black and grey, continuing the Cullen’s Twilight colour palette established by the movie’s costume designer Wendy Chuck (“My original idea was to keep their palate light,” she says. “I was working with the idea of pale and cold, a sort of frozen world of blues, greys, whites, silver with a hint of violet but we found that darker colours enhanced their vampire makeup.”) and is essentially a shirt worn with a waistcoat, trousers, boots and the ever-present Cullen crest wrist cuff. And we’ve found some spot-on lookalikes from top high street chains such as Burtons that are just the thing for some Cullen cool.

The roll sleeve shirt has twin chest pockets, is machine washable and at just £12, reduced from £22 is a great place to start piecing together your New Moon outfit. Pair it with the tailored fit charcoal grey five-button waistcoat that is available across a generous range of sizes and the smart straight-leg mid-blue jeans and you’re almost there. Apply the finishing touch with black ankle boots by Rockwood and the Cullen crest jewellery and voila! Instant Emmett Cullen cool. Now you’re ready to hunt some bears or whatever Emmett-inspired behaviour takes your fancy.

The Other Cullen…

First is Daddy Cullen, then comes The Cullen but before The Cullen, there was the other Cullen.
I must say Emmett Cullen is pretty likeable to me. And Kellan Lutz fits perfectly well. Here are some of Kellan’s recent photoshoots courtesy of KellanLutz Online.

This is solely dedicated to Mabel, a friend, a self declared Mrs Emmett Cullen (meaning she’s actually the self declared blondie Rosalie) and last but not least officially declared Miss Congkak! hahaha…
