Happy Birthday To The Volturi Guards!

Posted in Eclipse, New Moon with tags , on January 27, 2010 by chasingcullens

Cameron Bright and Charlie Bewley in ‘New Moon’ – Summit Ent.

Yesterday, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Charlie Bewley (“Felix”) turned . . . uh . . . fourteen (or so he would have his Twitter followers believe). Today, too, his Volturi guard co-star Cameron Bright (“Alec”) celebrates a birthday (his seventeenth)!

Both Bewley and Bright portray some of the sourest and most-skilled of the Volturi’s guard, but they’ve proven themselves in fan circles to be two very nice young men.

Bewley’s work in the Twilight series has been a sort of jumping off point for his career, catapulting him into instant recognition and reception. Though, it should be said that Charlie Bewley’s involvement with the Vancouver Film School has been a source of many chuckles.

Bright, on the other hand, is hardly a film novice at all, despite his young age. He’s been in quite a few films, not the least of which are The Butterfly Effect, Godsend, Thank You For Smoking, X-Men: The Last Stand, Juno, and Ultraviolet. In all, Bright’s been on the entertainment circuit for a decade.

Their characters – if and when The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn gets made – will be seen as a part of the saga for some time to come. So, a very happy birthday to these young men!

New Moon Stars Reacts To Avatar

Posted in Movies, New Moon with tags , , , , , on January 11, 2010 by chasingcullens

‘Avatar’ – Twentieth Century-Fox

The buzz on Avatar continues to sound, even past the film reaching the $1 billion mark in ticket sales. Avatar was released on December 18th in the U.S., and already it has earned over $1.3 billion on the world market.

Clearly, then, the film has reached the far corners of the world and has made a very blue mark upon its viewers.

The cast of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is no exception, and they’ve been tweeting about the film here and there.

Here is a round-up of what the Twilight cast has been saying about Avatar:

  • “Avatar was like watching the entire history of the Americas in 3 hours except it ended differently.” Alex Meraz
  • “Went to see Avatar yesterday. Me likey. X” Jamie Campbell Bower
  • “Nice flick.” Gil Birmingham
  • “AVATAR! James Cameron is one of the greats.” Kiowa Gordon
  • “Just got LOST in Avatar” Charlie Bewley
  • “how does the chipmunks beat avatar in the box office” Justin Chon
  • “wait for James Cameron to do Av[a]tar 2! Av[a]tar was soo frikin amazing….please hire me!!!” Daniel Cudmore

Interesting responses, huh?

Charlie Bewley Stills From His New Movie Ecstasy

Posted in Movies with tags on January 6, 2010 by chasingcullens

Volturi guard hottie Charlie Bewley (aka Demetri) will be staring in a new film entitled Ecstasy.

Here is the plot via the Official Ecstasy Facebook account –

ECSTASY is a contemporary and relevant film about how drugs transcend all borders of society and affect every facet of our lives. But when it leaves it takes away your soul.

A new party drug arrives on the rave scene in a college town and is consumed openly by young people. It’s irresistible – making you feel invincible, beautiful, intelligent and loved.

This haunting psychological thriller centers around a mother’s struggle to save her daughters from going down the same dark path she once took, a handsome jock’s (Charlie Bewley, from Twilight: New Moon) misplaced faith in God stemming from the temptations that surrounds him, and three college girls’ horrific experience with their drug-induced guilt, fears and demons.

Charlie Bewley Talks To OK Mag

Posted in Eclipse, Magazines, New Moon with tags on December 25, 2009 by chasingcullens

Ok! Magazine has a new interview with Charlie Bewley. Charlie talks about the differences in direction between New Moon and Eclipse, and how having different directors changed the tone. Read more below:

Charlie Bewley, who plays Volturi vampire Demetri in Twilight Saga: New Moon and Eclipse, says the next installment is set to be very different than the first two filmsSpeaking exclusively to OK.co.uk, Charlie revealed that director David Slade is going to add a nasty tone to the vampire love story.

He told us: “David is a master of mood. Eclipse has this different mood about it, it’s dark and vicious. You get to see the brutal nature of vampires and what they are really capable of, which is something we haven’t really seen in the first two movies.”

And the star told us David works very differently to New Moon director Chris Weitz.

He said: “They are very different directors. David understands what each scene needs [to create the dark mood] – absolute fine tuning. He might stop the scene halfway through and just tweak something before saying: ‘Go back, say that word again and I want you to put the emphasis on that’.

“It’s very controlled and when I was on set I found myself not being able to be as theatrically elaborate as I was with Chris’ film. But that’s exactly why David has been brought on board – to make this a more real film. Eclipse is going to be more real.”

But Charlie says Chris was happy to let the stars develop the characters themselves while filming New Moon.

He added: “Chris is someone who is massively organised in his work and he is meticulous in his preparation towards something, purely because the stuff he does is on such a grand scale and it was withNew Moon.

Charlie Bewley Wants To Model For Calvin Klein

Posted in New Moon with tags on December 20, 2009 by chasingcullens

Charlie Bewley in ‘The Twilight Saga: New Moon’ – Summit Ent.

Since becoming “Demetri” for The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Charlie Bewley has certainly gained his fair share of fans . . . and portraying a mean Volturi guard member doesn’t seem to be hindering his status as a nice guy.

When it was announced, though, that Kellan Lutz would be the next frontman for Calvin Klein’s advertising campaign, Bewley got a little green on Twitter.

“[N]eed to start doing some sit-ups,” he said, “TEAM BEWLEY – let’s take over the world……!!”

One look at Bewley’s website photos (see the slideshow below), and you might just think that he’s already ready for the job – sit-ups notwithstanding. Agreed?
