Xavier Samuel Talks Eclipse

Xavier Samuel (“Riley Biers” in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) claims that he did his homework with co-star Bryce Dallas Howard (“Victoria” in Eclipse) for at least one scene in the film.

Samuel, who was featured prominently in the final trailer for Eclipse, has been literally turning heads the world over, and he is featured in ELLE for his coming “heartthrob” status.

In his interview with the publication, Samuel revealed that the film’s kissing scene between himself and Howard was one that they paid special attention to.

(You might remember that some photos from the set of filming for their kiss scene popped up online last fall.)

To ready themselves for that moment, Samuel revealed, the two “watched YouTube clips of the best kisses in cinematic history for research.”

To prepare for the attention being a part of the Twilight Saga would bring him, Xavier Samuel is “tak[ing] a leaf from Rob and Kristen’s book,” so one has to wonder if Samuel and Howard looked to some of the “Edward and Bella” kisses during their research.

Kristen Stewart To Play An Assassin?

Posted in Gossips, Movies with tags , on April 27, 2010 by chasingcullens

Here’s an interesting rumour, what if Angelina Jolie’s replacement for Wanted 2 was in fact the petite starlett from The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, Kristen Stewart? Angelina Jolie had (somehow) been set to reprise her role as the now-deceased assassin, Fox in the sequel to Timur Bekmambetov’s 2008 hit action flick, Wanted. However the vampy actress pulled out earlier this year leaving fans wondering whether a sequel would ever get off of the ground at all.

Now it seems that the project might be set to move forward – with Kristen Stewart taking centre stage in a new role for the film. At this point details are sketchy (so sketchy that I’d tuck this one away in the rumour drawer for now) however it seems that Bekmambetov has been in discussion with “The Runaways” actress. This from E! Online:

While details are still pretty scarce, Stewart’s character would be a young, ass-kicking assassin in the Fraternity.

So is Stewart in, and Angie out?

It’s too early to tell if the film is even gonna happen, but it’s not looking good for A.

Our insider says Kristen was approached to fill Jolie’s hot-woman void in the franchise and met at least once with Timur Bekmambetov, the director of the series.

So what do you make of this shock piece of casting?

Last Airbender Is Eclipse Competetion?

Posted in Eclipse, Movies on April 27, 2010 by chasingcullens

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
‘The Twilight Saga: Eclipse’ – Summit Ent.

We’ve known for some time that Jackson Rathbone’s The Last Airbender would be released very near to The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, and months ago, Eclipse was listed right alongside Airbender on Variety‘s assessment of “formidable competition” for the summer box office.

A lot of Twilight fans have operated under the assumption that those who would see Eclipse this summer would not be deterred by the date of Airbender‘s release, but Variety has readdressed the situation and suggests that the formidable competition at issue now is between Eclipse and Airbender.

“Eclipse,” unspooling June 30, will face tough competition for male eyeballs from Paramount’s event pic “The Last Airbender,” which opens July 2. Last week, Paramount upped the ante by announcing that it’s converting “Airbender” to 3D.

As is obvious in this film franchise (especially with the recently released final trailer), Eclipse filmmakers are trying to reach an expanded audience (namely, more male fans), so the situation of Airbender just behind Eclipse could serve as an obstacle to getting some new bodies in the theaters for the film.

Other than Airbender, it’s been suggested that Twelve is a potential box office competitor for Eclipse.

On the other hand, Eclipse does have the advantage of opening first in the week (Wednesday, June 30th), so that might be a factor to consider.

Robert Pattinson's Edward confronts Jacob in Eclipse

Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen is confronted by Taylor Lautner’s Jacob in this scene from David Slade’s upcoming The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

“You have to consider the idea that I might be better for her than you are.” The “her” here, of course, is Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan, who in order to become one with Edward will have to undergo, let’s say, a radical transformation.

Needless to say, Pattinson/Edward isn’t too happy about what Jacob has just told him, but at the same time it’s clear that he believes — at least to a certain extent — that what Jacob is saying has some truth to it.

This is a great shot because it shows how Pattinson acts with his eyes. It’s all there. The fear, the pain, the danger, and the hatred (would this be too strong a word?) for his rival.
